وأكد اللاعب إلياس سعد في تصريح لصحيفة بيلد الألمانية، رفضه دعوة المنتخب الوطني للمشاركة في تصفيات كأس العالم.
وقال سعد إنه من الأفضل البقاء مع فريقه سانت باولي الألماني في مرحلة مهمة للغاية من الموسم الحالي، على حد تعبيره، مشيراً إلى أنه من السابق لأوانه التفكير في المنتخب الوطني خلال هذه المرحلة.
يُذكر أن إلياس سعد سبق أن أبدى صعوبة في قبول عدم دعوته للمشاركة في المباراتين الوديتين لنسور قرطاج أمام كوريا الجنوبية واليابان في أكتوبر الماضي.
ويلتقي المنتخب الوطني مع ساو تومي ومالاوي في الجولتين الأولى والثانية من تصفيات كأس العالم.
Player Elias Saad confirmed in a statement to the German newspaper Bild that he refused to invite the national team to participate in the World Cup qualifiers.
Saad said that it was better to stay with his team, the German club St. Pauli, in a very important stage of the current season, as he put it, indicating that it was too early to think about the national team during this stage.
It is noteworthy that Elias Saad had previously expressed his difficulty accepting not being invited to participate in the Carthage Eagles’ two friendly matches against South Korea and Japan last October.
The national team will face Sao Tome and Malawi for the first and second rounds of the World Cup qualifiers.
